Hair Loss

Hi Doctor,

I just turned 50 and it seems my hair is getting thinner all the time. My crown area is really starting to thin out. I've tried all the Menoxidils but get side effects. I've had seborrea dermititis since I was a teenager.

Been using Tgel to keep my scalp from getting bad. No dandruff as long as I use it. My crown area is about a half dollar size and getting worse. What can you recommend? Hair transplant?

Any other treatment? I'd appreciate any help you could give.

Thank you,
Laszlo

Dear Laszlo

Seb dermatitis can be controlled with intermittent application of betnovate scalp lotion. Seborrhoea is caused by a fungus, thus washing your hair with Nizoral may help. As for the crown area, transplant is a bit early in time. You may try Chalet hairloss ampoules which contain saw palmetto. You may find these at http://www.hairmedics.com .
